Preseli's
The Preseli's rise to a height of 536 metres above the Irish Sea. Their wild and haunting beauty has cast its spell over man since the Stone Age. The bluestone circle at Stonehenge (some 150 miles away) was made from stones from this area. There are more prehistoric monuments per square mile in the Preseli region than anywhere else in Wales outside Anglesey. Some have been beautifully reconstructed, but most lie untouched in a landscape that probably has not changed much for many thousands of years.
Waldo's Stone
On Rhosfach common, Mynachlogddu in the Preseli's stands Waldo's Stone. It is a memorial to Waldo Williams (1904-1971), who has been called 'The most original Welsh language romantic poet of the 20th century'.
