St David's
St David's, the smallest city in the UK, is situated on the west coast of Pembrokeshire within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Granted city status by Queen Elizabeth II, due to its 12th century Cathedral, St David's is in reality a large village. Surrounded by spectacular coastal scenery, which is renowned for its beauty and abundance of wildlife, St David's and the surrounding area should be high on the list of places to visit when seeing Pembrokeshire.
The Nave
St Davids Cathedral is one of the great historic shrines of Christendom as it managed to escape the plundering Norsmen in the 'Dark Ages'. Since the 6th century there has been a church on this site. For the past 1500 years prayer and worship has taken place on a daily basis which continues to this day.
To capture this I took 5 different images and used a technique called HDR (high dynamic range), which enabled me to capture detail in the shadows & highlights and produce an image closer to how the eye really sees it.
